Beer Braised Country Style Pork Ribs

Beer and ribs together with homemade barbecue sauce = an amazing meal.

Ingredients

  • 1⁄3 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 pounds bone-in country style pork ribs
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1⁄2 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bottle beer
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • pinch cayenne pepper

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. In a plastic bag, combine flour, salt and pepper. Coat the ribs with flour mixture, a few pieces at a time.
  • Heat oil in a Dutch oven. Brown ribs on all sides. Add onion and beer.
  • Bake for 1 hour. Remove ribs from the Dutch oven and pour off the liquid. Combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, garlic and cayenne pepper. Place ribs back into the Dutch oven. Pour sauce over ribs and cook another 1/2 hour.
