The only requirement to register an online account is a valid email address. This will be used to identify your unique account. A VIC card number is not required, but is strongly recommended to take advantage of all the benefits of our app.
Make sure you're entering the entire VIC card number or alternate ID, with no spaces or dashes. It's possible that we have old information on your account, so the last name or postal code that you're entering may not match. If you suspect this is the case, please call our Customer Service Center at 1-800-432-6111.
Some email providers hold our confirmation emails for up to 24 hours before delivering them to your inbox. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to speed up the process since it's an issue on the email provider’s end. You must be 16 and have a valid photo ID in order to obtain a VIC card.

Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding our VIC card application process. Our sole purpose of getting a photo ID is to be certain the person applying for the VIC card is who they say they are. That protects us and also you, the customer.
As we continue to offer more individualized offers/rewards and triple or super double coupon events it is imperative that we know our customer. For example, if we tell a customer that if they spend $100 in the next two weeks we will give them a $10 electronic rebate, we want to make sure the correct person gets the reward. Another example would be if the limit on triple coupons is 20 in a day, we want to be able to electronically control our rules. VIC cards are required for product refunds and additional benefits include VIC pricing discounts, entries in future sweepstakes, club points for free subs, and discounts on our Fresh Catch seafood products when enrolled.
Listing the actual ID or Driver’s License number is our way to check to make sure store personnel are following the proper procedures in verifying a customer’s identity. We hope to earn your business.
You can provide your home phone number to the cashier and that will ensure that any shopping credits are applied to your VIC account. If the number does not work, that is an indication it is incorrect in our database. Please contact our Customer Relations VIC services area to let them know so they can update your information, 1-800-432-6111, option 2.
You can get a new card, but it is preferable that you fill out the replacement card portion of the application. You can also go online and get a replacement card or contact our Customer Relations VIC Services area at 1-800-432-6111 to obtain a new card with your same account number on it so that we can make sure all shopping done towards earning our loyalty rewards are directed to the proper VIC account.

No. You are automatically entered into VIC sweepstakes and special promotions simply by using your VIC card during the promotion dates.
If you apply at store level, you receive your card immediately.
We will occasionally use customer purchase records and other information to offer special promotions or coupons to our customers. But we do not share personal information with anyone outside of Harris Teeter. If you prefer not to receive these special offers, just select the "opt out" box located on the VIC online application form and (for existing VIC Card holders) on the VIC online change form.
