Wairau River

Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc

Established in 1978, the Rose family estate vineyards are situated on the banks of the Wairau River (pronounced “why-row”). Pioneers in the Marlborough region, the Rose family selected vineyard sites along the banks of the Wairau River to grow their grapes. This river provides the wines with a distinct sense of place and the river’s stratification is the inspiration for the label design across all the brand’s varietals.

Refined and elegant, the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc displays a finely textured palate with flavors of guava and stone fruit. It's wonderfully expressive with a fresh, dry finish.

Smith and Hook

Smith and Hook Cabernet Sauvignon

The Smith & Hook story begins more than 40 years ago in the hills of Monterey County, where the Hahn family founded Smith & Hook on a converted horse & cattle ranch, launching a decades-long exploration of Central Coast Cabernet Sauvignon.

Aromas of blackberry and blueberry with hints of violet, tobacco leaf and cedar. The palate is full-bodied and rich with flavors of dried cranberry and baked blackberry, finishing with a touch of toasty oak and a long, silky finish. Pairs perfectly with venison bolognese or chocolate mousse cheesecake

Matchbook Cabernet Sauvignon

The Giguiere Family embodies Dunnigan Hills winemaking. In 1981, they pioneered grape-growing in this region when they played their very first vineyard. By 1993, they had succeeded in making the Dunnigan Hills a nationally recognized American appellation. The Matchbook flame is an homage to the Giguiere brothers’ youthful fascination with fire. Today, Matchbook Wine Company produces over 15 wines showcasing the varietals that perform best in their warm, dry climate.

The wine opens with classic Cabernet aromas of saddle leather, cigar box and a touch of earthy eucalyptus. Sumptuous flavors of blackberry, boysenberry, huckleberry, and mocha are framed by sweet oak and vanilla from barrel aging. Fine-grained, dusty tannins add a plush structure to the finish. This an elegant, richly smooth Cabernet that is as delicious on its own as it is paired with braised short ribs, gourmet burgers or a combo pizza.

Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon

A pioneer by nature, Donald Hess was determined to defy convention and pursue winemaking at elevation. In 1978, he established The Hess Collection Winery on the site of one of the region’s oldest wineries on Mount Veeder. Although few in Napa Valley were cultivating vines at elevation, Donald Hess believed the volcanic slopes of Mount Veeder provided the ideal combination of soils and microclimates to yield elegant wines with rich, complex flavors.

Today, the next generation of The Hess family continues Donald’s legacy at its original home on Mount Veeder, above the Napa Valley. The winery and vineyards are founded in extremes and thrive on the rugged terrain from which the Hess Collection winemaking team crafts exceptional luxury wines lauded by the critics.

On the nose, this Cabernet Sauvignon presents vivid aromas of red cherry and blackberry accented by notes of warm cedar. Then entry on this wine is big and rich, as mouth-filling tannins deliver complex layers of black fruit, notably blackberry and black plum, with hints of roasted vanilla and mocha on the soft, round finish.

Josh Cellars North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon

Joseph Carr was raised in Upstate New York by hard-working parents of modest means. He discovered a passion for wine at an early age, starting off as a wine steward at a local restaurant. Joseph spent a decade serving as a world-class sommelier followed by another decade as a wine industry executive. After years of hard work, he left it all behind to pursue his dream: starting his own wine company, making wines from California. Joseph Carr began selling Josh out of the back of his truck. In the beginning, he only made one wine, Cabernet Sauvignon, but soon thereafter began making a Josh Chardonnay for his wife, Dee. From day one, proceeds from Josh Cellars have been donated to various military, veteran, and firefighter groups.

Fruit forward and balanced, this wine is bursting with aromas of dark fruits and toasted nuts with hints of blackcurrant and rose petal. The palate shows rich flavors of dark cherries, hazelnuts, mocha, and a touch of vanilla leading into a long finish. The tannins are round and smooth.
