Longevity Cabernet

Longevity Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Phil Long is the president of the Association of African American Vintners (AAAV) and the founder of Longevity Wines, a brand based on his love affair with his wife, Debra. They were an interracial couple focused on offering inclusive wine experiences until Debra lost her battle with pancreatic cancer in 2019. Phil personally designed the delicate heart logo on their bottles, then had it tattooed on his forearm before she died so that she will always be with him.

Starting with the first Syrah he made with Debra in their garage in 2002, Phil’s approach to winemaking has been to continually challenge himself to make the best wines possible. He is passing that diligence on to his son, Phil Long, Jr., who now serves as Longevity’s assistant winemaker. For their wide array of Longevity Vintner Select (black label) wines, Phil and his son start with locally sourced grapes from Livermore Valley. Their production and cellaring practices are always evolving and their wines have earned many accolades.

The Longevity Cabernet Sauvignon boasts flavors of black-cherry, cassis, and pomegranate. It finishes with a touch of oak and yields to a light vanilla and cocoa. Pair with braised lamb shanks, roasted vegetables, or baked brie.

Intercept

Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon

Hall of Fame NFL player Charles Woodson created Intercept as a thank you to his fans. He wanted to give them high quality wine at an affordable price because they deserve it. Charles's love of wine grew from his time in California's Napa Valley, while in training camp during his time with the Oakland Raiders.

"Intercept" being a nod to his career playing football, Charles approaches his wines just like athletics: You can bruise your hip, or dislocate your shoulder, but you’ve still got to pull through on Sundays. You’ve still got to deliver world-class wines each vintage, and that's where you truly understand there’s no substitute for hard work.

The 2020 Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of ripe blackberries, red currants, and dried herbs. The wine is full-bodied with flavors of baking spice and plush ripe fruit with a long, fine-grained tannin finish. Pair with steaks, braised short ribs, and lamb chops.

LMM Sonoma Cabernet

Louis M. Martini Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon

Brenae is the Vineyard Manager for the 575-acre Monte Rosso Vineyard on the eastern hills of Sonoma Valley, one the most historic acclaimed winegrowing sites in California. She began as an Intern and today is the Vineyard and Wine Grower Relations Manager. Brenae says, “Viticulture is still very male-dominated, so to drive more inclusion and diversity is very much an uphill battle.” It’s a battle that Brenae has done anything but back down from.

The 2018 Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon is an approachable, fruit-driven wine. It offers a welcomingly round mouthfeel with ripe notes of red fruit and cherry. Delicate hints of dark chocolate and oak spice on the finish add layers of elegance and freshness, offering a rich yet balanced expression of the varietal.
