It’s been a long hot summer! Time to wind down and spend a little TLC on YOU! Yep, we’re talking “me-time” with some easy DIY Spa-Day-at-Home recipes.

We’ve got you covered from head to toe with six treatments you’ll want to recreate at home. Need to bring some moisture back to your hair after time in the sun? How about those rough and dry flip flop feet?

Hair Mask with Avocado, Coconut Oil & Honey

Vitamin rich avocados and the moisturizing properties of coconut oil will lend your hair a natural shine.

Directions:

  1. In a blender, combine 1 (peeled and pitted) ripe avocado, 2 tablespoons Harris Teeter Organics Coconut Oil, 2 Tablespoons Harris Teeter Organics Honey, and 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil. Process until smooth.
  2. Spread the mask on clean and dry hair, focusing on the ends. Use a clip to pull hair into a knot on your head and put on a shower cap. Allow to set for 10 minutes, then heat your hair with your hair dryer on a low setting for five minutes.
  3. When you’re ready to rinse, apply a dollop of shampoo and massage into your hair prior to wetting it. Rinse as usual, repeating if any unwanted residue remains. Shiny hair awaits

  1. In a food processor or spice grinder, pulse ¼ cup of Harris Teeter Rolled Oats until you have coarse ground oats. (This will leave you with enough oats for a few masks.) In a small bowl, add 1 Tablespoon ground oats to 2 Tablespoons Whole Milk. Stir until the mixture is smooth and some of the liquid is absorbed by the oats.
  2. Apply the mixture to your face, and neck, allowing it sit for twenty minutes. Wash your face with warm water, then pat dry.

Treat tired hands to a delicious soak in warm water scented with citrus and mint prior to giving them a pop of color with your favorite nail polish.

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, add a handful of Harris Teeter Epsom Salts and swirl. Toss in your favorite sliced citrus fruits and a few mint leaves. Allow your hands to soak for five minutes before moving along to your other favorite manicure treats.

Enjoy this delicious drink at home by mixing bitter sweet matcha green tea with warm milk. A perfect way to cap off your at-home spa day!

Directions:

  1. Add 1 teaspoon green tea powder to a mug. Mix in 2 Tablespoons of hot water. Whisk carefully until green tea powder is completely dissolved. Next, the remaining ¼ cup water, two teaspoons sugar, and ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
  2. Now, froth the simmering milk. If you don’t have a frother, you can use a French press as well. It doesn’t take much time. Add milk foam into green tea. Dust with green tea powder and serve.
