MATTHEWS, N.C. – Harris Teeter and Titan Farms are joining forces for the 12th year to provide fresh produce to our communities through its Peaches with a Purpose campaign. From July 29 to Aug. 5, every peach purchased at a North Carolina Harris Teeter location will help feed neighbors facing food insecurity. Since 2013, donations from Titan Farms to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina through the campaign have averaged 35,000 pounds of fresh fruit per year.

“We’re grateful to Titan Farms for their continued dedication to local hunger relief efforts and for making Harris Teeter part of this transformative program,” said Danna Robinson, director of corporate affairs for Harris Teeter. “Fresh produce remains critically scarce at food banks nationwide, and we’re committed to help deliver nutritious, quality options to those who need them the most.”

During the week of Aug. 11, Salem Transportation will deliver Titan Farms peaches from South Carolina to the food bank. Salem Transportation donates both time and transportation services for this annual delivery, demonstrating the community spirit that makes this initiative possible.
