Dr. Russ’ blog is a place you can come to each week to share your experience with the yourwellness for life program, find out what is working for others on the same journey, and ask questions of Dr. Russ. A little about Dr. Russ:
Russell Greenfield, M.D. (Dr. Russ, as we like to call him at Harris Teeter) has been an integral part of the yourwellness team since the program launched in March of 2006. Dr. Russ received his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School where he was a junior year Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society inductee. He completed residency and fellowship training in emergency medicine at Harbor / UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Russ then moved to Charlotte and became involved in the emergency medicine residency program at Carolinas Medical Center, where he was honored as the inaugural recipient of The Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching. Dr. Greenfield was medical director of the emergency department at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews in Matthews, NC prior to becoming one of the first four physicians worldwide to be admitted into the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at The University of Arizona College of Medicine under the tutelage of Dr. Andrew Weil.

Dr. Russ was the founding medical director of Carolinas Integrative Health, a freestanding center in Charlotte, NC owned and operated by the Carolinas HealthCare System. He lectures widely, was a consultant to the Federation of State Medical Boards during development of model guidelines for the use of complementary and alternative therapies in medical practice, and co-authored Healthy Child, Whole Child (HarperCollins 2001), named Best Parenting Guide 2001 by the editors at Amazon.com.
