We promise to make you aware when products that may cause health problems and were available in our stores have been recalled via this page. As one of our Very Important Customers (VIC), card members we can also make you aware of recalls such as these via e-mail or by phone. Harris Teeter is proud to take extra steps such as these to help ensure that you and your family have the information that you need.

However, we need your help. To receive Class I product recall information via phone or by e-mail you will need to update your VIC card information. Being a VIC card member provides a variety of benefits including: weekly specials, raising money for schools, entry into sweepstakes, loyalty rewards, and now up to date recall data on the foods you purchase. Recall: 
Kaytee Products announced a voluntary recall of its Kaytee Keet Honey Stix products due to possible contamination of Salmonella from parsley flake ingredients supplied to Kaytee by an outside supplier.

Upon being informed of the recall, Harris Teeter removed the affected product from its shelves.  Harris Teeter asks that customers who may have purchased the affected product do not feed the product to their pets but rather return it to any Harris Teeter for a full refund.

Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is a risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products. Pet owners should thoroughly wash their hands after having contact with these products and clean any surfaces that were exposed.
