We promise to make you aware when products that may cause health problems and were available in our stores have been recalled via this page. As one of our Very Important Customers (VIC), card members we can also make you aware of recalls such as these via e-mail or by phone. Harris Teeter is proud to take extra steps such as these to help ensure that you and your family have the information that you need.

However, we need your help. To receive Class I product recall information via phone or by e-mail you will need to update your VIC card information. Being a VIC card member provides a variety of benefits including: weekly specials, raising money for schools, entry into sweepstakes, loyalty rewards, and now up to date recall data on the foods you purchase. Please take a minute to update your current information in our VIC database.

GoldCoast Salads, a Naples, Fl. Company, is voluntarily recalling GoldCoast Main Lobster Spread and GoldCoast Blue Crab Spread because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.  Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.  
Harris Teeter is distributing this notification upon being informed by its supplier GoldCoast Salads that the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Harris Teeter has removed the recalled product from its stores and asks that customers who have purchased the affected products since Dec. 31, 2012 do not consume the products but rather return them to any Harris Teeter for a full refund.
