Cibo Naturals of Seattle, Washington, is recalling its 6 oz Classic Basil Pesto, because it may contain undeclared pine nuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pine nuts (tree nuts) run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The product is sold in 6oz clear plastic containers, under the label Cibo Naturals Classic Basil Pesto. The lot numbers that may contain undeclared pine nuts are 34007344, 34007345, and 34007346. This lot number information is printed in black ink on the bottom of the container.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing pine nuts was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of pine nuts. Subsequent investigation indicated the problem resulted from a process deviation in the company’s mixing procedures.

Perdue Perfect Portions Milk Allergen Alert

Perdue Farms in cooperation with the USDA has voluntarily recalled 1,716 cases of 28.8 ounce PERDUE® PERFECT PORTIONS® Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts due to an undeclared milk allergen. The only PERDUE® PERFECT PORTIONS® impacted by this recall is UPC (bar code) 72745-06819 that appears on the back of the package.

The recalled product bears the establishment number “EST. P-7903” inside the U.S.D.A. mark of inspection on the front of the bag. Each label will also bear a “Sell or Freeze By” date of February 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 on the back of the bag.

If you or members of your household are allergic to milk products, do not consume this product. Return it to Harris Teeter for a full refund.

The following PERDUE® PERFECT PORTIONS® products are not included in the recall: All Natural, Italian Style, Tomato Basil, Teriyaki, Herb and Pepper, and Roasted Garlic with White Wine.

Because of a packing error, Italian Style chicken breasts were packed in a PERFECT PORTIONS® bag that says Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts with no flavor designated. The Italian Style product contains a milk allergen that was not declared on the bag used.

There have been no reports of illness associated with the product. Anyone concerned about an allergic reaction should contact a physician.
