Holiday Pizza

Holiday Pizzas

Ingredients:

1 lb. prepared pizza dough
Flour, for dusting
Pizza Sauce
Shredded Cheese
Preferred Pizza Toppings such as: Pepperoni, Sliced Olives, Mushrooms and Bell Peppers

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Farenheit.
Bring pizza dough to room temperature and sprinkle flour over work surface and top of dough with flour.

  • For a large candy cane pizza, roll out dough into a wide and narrow rectangle (appox. ¼” thick) then curl around to make the “cane shape.” You may want to shape the pizza on the pan you plan to bake it on so as not to distort the cane during transfer.
  • For mini ornament pizzas, roll out dough to ¼” thickness then cut with assorted holiday cookie cutters.
Place pizzas on greased baking pan and top with sauce, cheese and toppings.
Bake at 400 degrees until crust is golden and cheese is melted, approximately 15-18 minutes for the large Candy Cane pizza and 7-10 minutes for the mini ornament pizzas.

 


Holiday Doughnut Tower

Ingredients and Supplies:

24” foam cone, available at arts supply store
1 bag of green candy melts, available at arts supply store
Toothpicks
2-3 dozen doughnuts
Tree topper
Floral wire

Directions:

Melt candy melts according to package directions. Using a pastry or marinade brush, coat the foam cone with melted candy.
Allow to dry completely and set the cone on serving platter. (It’ll be too heavy to move later!)
To assemble the tree, skewer the doughnut with one toothpick and then attach it to the tree, starting at the bottom. Use additional toothpicks to secure doughnuts where necessary.
Carefully secure tree topper with floral wire or toothpick.


Sugar Cone Holiday Trees

Ingredients:

Box(es) of Sugar Cones
White icing
Green food coloring
Candy for decorating, such as: Gumdrops, Sweet Tarts, M&M’s, Nerds, Sprinkles, Skittles, & Peppermints
Hungry kids!

Directions:

Starting with a few drops, add green food coloring to white icing tubs. Mix thoroughly, and adjust color as desired.
Using a spatula or kid-appropriate knife, spread icing over sugar cone and set on top of baking rack or platter, then decorate with abandon.
You can try and sit back and admire your work, or just start eating!


Caprese Salad Wreath

Ingredients for wreath:

Large platter
6-8 assorted heirloom tomatoes, sliced
1 pt. grape or cherry tomatoes
2 bunches of basil, destemmed
1 tub of Bocconcini in water, drained
12 – 16 oz. of fresh mozzarella, sliced

You may want to serve it with:

Sliced bread or crackers
Olive oil
Pesto
Balsamic Glaze

Directions for assembly:

Consider the large platter a clock. Starting with 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock place groupings of larger sliced tomatoes.
In between the large groupings, arrange the sliced mozzarella (i.e. at 2, 4, 8and 10 o’clock).
Fill in the spaces with grape tomatoes and Bocconcini and basil leaves.
Dot with pesto and balsamic glaze, if desired.


 Pistachio, Pineapple and Pomegranate Salad

Pistachio, Pineapple
and Pomegranate Salad

Ingredients:

2 cans of pineapple chunks (20 oz. each), Undrained
2 large Honeycrisp apples, peeled, cored and diced
2, 3oz. boxes of instant pistachio pudding mix
2 cups of whipping cream (not pre-made)
1 bag of small marshmallows
1 Pomegranate

Directions:

In a large bowl, empty cans of pineapple (with juice) and stir in diced apples and boxes of pistachio pudding. Stir until thick.
Whip whipping cream until you get medium peaks (don’t add sugar, it’ll be sweet enough as is!).
Gently stir in whipping cream and marshmallows into pineapple mix. Allow to set up, at least one hour or up to 24 hrs.
Break open pomegranate and take out the arils. Doing this in a large bowl under water will keep the juice from splashing and help remove the pulp from the arils.
Decorate the Salad with the arils right before serving.


Holiday Pomegranate Lemonade

Base Mix

4 cups of Pomegranate Juice, chilled
2 bottles of club soda, chilled
1 can of Frozen Lemonade concentrate, thawed
Pomegranate arils and lemons, optional
Mix ingredients and serve with one of the following options

For the Family

Prepare base mix and top stir in 2 cups of chilled Sprite or Ginger Ale. Serve immediately.

For a Bubbly Beverage

Prepare base mix and stir in one bottle of Sparkling Wine, chilled. Serve immediately.

For a Holiday Cocktail

Prepare base mix and stir in 8-12 oz. of chilled Vodka, to taste. Serve immediately.


Sushi Tree

Ingredients:

Large serving tray
6-8 orders of prepared sush
Trimmings: Grape tomatoes, sliced okra, wasabi peas and salmon roe
Serve with: Soy sauce, Sriracha, wasabi and SAKE!

To Assemble:

Begin with a large circle, selecting sushi of the same height. Fill in circle completely with sushi, and then add a second layer, two sushi rolls smaller in diameter. Proceed in the same manner up to the top, and create a star using a cherry tomato and sliced okra piece, inserted with a toothpick Decorate with whimsy and serve immediately.
