Welcoming the New Year - A Time to Pause
Created on 12/31/2013
It's an exciting time - at the stroke of midnight we ring in a New Year.
You may already have plans for the start of 2014. I would ask that you include one more thing in those plans -
a little time for your self -
To offer gratitude in any way appropriate for you -
To pause and reflect on what was, what is, what can be -
To consider anew what is truly important to you -
And how you can best align your actions and thoughts with your values.
What does this type of exercise have to do with good health?
The answer is - everything.
Our choices, from what we eat to how we spend our time and dollars, impacts our sense of purpose. When we act in ways that provide us with meaning in our lives we are better balanced - emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Some say another word for good health is balance.
Over the next 24 hours or so, take some time to pause and consider our good fortune to be able to bring in 2014 in relative peace and good cheer. It will do your health good.
Wishing you and yours a New Year filled with added peace, good health and happiness.
