Free Integrative Oncology Symposium - February 8
Created on 2/1/2013
Most people with a history of cancer have explored the use of dietary and lifestyle changes to help optimize health, perhaps even a small number of complementary therapies as well.
But how can you know what's safe to use during chemotherapy or radiation therapy?
Are there therapies available that can help provide relaxation and that hold promise towards lessening side effects associated with cancer treatment?
Once treatment has been successfully completed - now what? What can someone do reasonably (and safely) to stay well?
What foods might possess cancer-fighting potential?
These questions are voiced by many people, and next Friday, February 8th anyone who is interested can attend the Levine Cancer Institute's inaugural Integrative Oncology Symposium being held at the SouthPark Renaissance hotel located at 5501 Carnegie Boulevard in Charlotte, NC.
During the meeting doctors and other practitioners will address a variety of topics including diet and exercise, the safe use of vitamins and supplements, mind / body therapies that support healing, acupuncture and much more.
In addition, attendees can participate in experiential breakout sessions to explore Tai Chi, gentle yoga or mindfulness meditation.
More good news - the 8am-4pm event is FREE - BUT YOU MUST REGISTER FIRST BECAUSE SPACE IS LIMITED.
To register call 704-512-3209.
Breakfast is avalable prior to the first presentation which will begin at about 7:45 am.
While you're there you can also pick up free health information from Harris Teeter.
