Antioxidants - How Best to Get Them

Many patients come to me asking whether they should be taking antioxidant supplements, such as vitamin C.

There well may be some benefit to supplementing your diet with antioxidants and other nutrients depending upon your specific health circumstances, but the research in this area has yet to produce a clear recommendation.

With one exception.

It is very clear -

and the medical experts agree -

that the single best way to get a healthy dose of antiodiants every day is...

to eat a wide variety of colorful vegetables and fruits at most meals.

It is true that you will get larger doses of antioxidants by taking pills, but more is not always better. That's the rub.

The antioxidants in produce are present is safe concentrations towards health, and always exist alongside other healthy nutrients.

And vegetables and fruits taste WAY better than pills.

Just another reason to do your best to eat plenty of produce each day - you might take fewer pills, and may enjoy better health.
