What is Integrative Medicine?

After many years training and working as an emergency physician I was fortunate to be accepted into a 2-year Fellowship Program in Integrative Medicine at The University of Arizona College of Medicine, which I completed in 1999. I have practiced Integrative Medicine ever since.

Integrative Medicine - sounds nice, but what exactly are we talking about?

Integrative Medicine is defined as healing oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind and spirit, family, community and environment), including all aspects of diet and lifestyle. Salt II

S says it can be hard to watch your salt intake when even the so-called healthy items seem to contain a lot of salt / sodium.

And she's right.

Last month I discussed an article that examined the potential health and financial benefits of lowering daily salt intake. This month the latest data are specific to the US, and the findings are similar - cutting back on salt will help us all to be healthier.

Read your food labels, don't add salt to your meals, and support efforts to place limits on salt in processed foods. Read More>>
