Harris Teeter Announces Teachers of Excellence Recipients
10 Teachers Receive Cash Rewards for Furthering Excellence in Education

Charlotte, N.C. – Harris Teeter is pleased to announce the winners of the Harris Teeter Teachers of Excellence Award, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to recognizing excellence in education.  The award was created as part of the company’s Together in Education (TIE) program to celebrate teachers whose dedication and inspiring presence motivates and impacts students, colleagues and the community.  Each of the 10 award winners receives $1,000 cash and also earns a $1,000 cash reward for the school at which they teach.

The award winners were selected from a list of nominations submitted by TIE coordinators throughout the company’s marketing areas.  To be eligible to receive the award, a teacher must teach at a school registered with the Together in Education program, and the school must also have a minimum of 100 people linked to its TIE number.  The 2012 nominees were all exceptionally dedicated to their profession, playing an active role in the community as well as in the school. These teachers inspire students to learn through effective instructional practices and have exemplary educational accomplishments beyond the classroom which provide models of excellence for others in their profession.
