Harris Teeter Increases Crime Stoppers Reward in Greensboro, N.C.
Charlotte, N.C. - Harris Teeter announced it has increased the Crime Stoppers reward to $75,000 for information leading to the arrests of suspects responsible for the robberies at Harris Teeter stores in Greensboro and the surrounding community. Harris Teeter announced the original reward in May, hoping to motivate those with information about the crimes to come forward. The company chose to increase the Crime Stoppers reward now in an effort to bring new attention to the cases and bring in new leads for Law Enforcement to pursue. Although no incidents have been reported since May, Harris Teeter continues to actively aid local Law Enforcement to identify the criminals responsible for disrupting the safe environment the company diligently works to provide. To accomplish this, Harris Teeter has maintained increased security presence at its stores in Greensboro and the surrounding area, reinforced its robbery procedures with associates and increased the Crime Stoppers reward. Harris Teeter Offers $50,000 Reward for Information Leading to the Successful Arrests of Suspects Responsible for Recent Robberies
Company Hires Security Personnel for Stores in Greensboro and the Surrounding Area
Charlotte, N.C. – Harris Teeter contacted the Greensboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division early Wednesday morning and committed a $50,000 reward for information leading to the successful arrests of those responsible for recent robberies at Harris Teeter stores in Greensboro and the surrounding area.
The company places the highest priority on the welfare of both its associates and its shoppers, and will not stand-by as criminal acts against the company continue to put associates and shoppers at risk. Harris Teeter hired security personnel for its stores in Greensboro and the surrounding area to further safeguard its associates and shoppers against this egregious criminal behavior and also implemented temporary hours of operation for seven area stores. Harris Teeter is actively working with local Law Enforcement to aide its investigation in whatever way possible and hopes the $50,000 reward will motivate those with information about the crimes to come forward.
Harris Teeter continues to meet with associates working at the time of the incidents, as well as other associates who feel adversely affected. Due to our associates following company procedures for handling instances such as these, no serious injuries occurred. We commend our associates for how they handled the situations and will continue to train them in this regard.
