Harris Teeter Donates Lottery Incentive Award to Two Wake Schools
Charlotte, N.C. - Harris Teeter today donated a $4,000 incentive award it had received for selling a winning ticket for a Carolina Cash 5 jackpot to two Wake County elementary schools. Harris Teeter District Manager Ricardo Smith and Store Manager Jon Carr presented the checks to school officials at the store. Both Holly Springs Elementary School and Holly Grove Elementary received $2,000.
Jan Farmer, president of the Holly Springs Elementary PTA, said the association planned to use its share of the donation to help build a new track at the school. Tracy Edick, president of the Holly Grove Elementary PTA, said the association planned to use its portion to build a rock wall for students to use for exercise.
The commision donated by Harris Teeter is part of an incentive program the Education Lottery has with its retail partners, and this donation marks the second Harris Teeter has made in partnership with the North Carolina Education Lottery.
