Harris Teeter Nears Completion of Remodel of Shops at Shadowline Food Market
Expansion of Your Neighborhood Food Market Expected to be Complete by February 2012
Charlotte, N.C. – Harris Teeter is excited to announce the remodel of its Shops at Shadowline location is expected to be complete by Feb. 15, 2012. The company wants to thank its shoppers for their patience during the remodel and invites them to visit the store to see all it now has to offer.
Harris Teeter strives to remodel its stores before shoppers may see there is a need. The company originally opened the store in 1995; the remodel/expansion started in June 2011. The remodel took place in stages during the nine-month time frame.
The company added 9,600 square feet to the location and introduced a new salad bar, expanded floral department, expanded Farmers Market, cheese kiosk, olive bar, La Brea bread kiosk as well as a new beer and wine section including both a beer and keg cooler. Harris Teeter is also pleased to announce it will feature a new Starbucks – the first in Boone, N.C.
Harris Teeter also introduced a variety of sustainable features to the store during the remodel. The store previously featured a white reflective energy efficient roof, motion detection lighting, as well as a heat reclamation system and energy management system which optimize comfort and lighting conditions in the store. Additional green features now include LED lights in the wine section, frozen food, beer, and dairy door cases, as well as waterless urinals and low flow faucets.
