Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, volunteers from Fort McHenry Business Association will arrive at Harris Teeter to assemble holiday dinner bags for clients of South Baltimore Emergency Relief. Harris Teeter is donating enough food and fixins for 125 holiday dinner bags complete with turkey.
Thursday morning after the bag assembly, Harris Teeter associates will load the products on a truck to be delivered to South Baltimore Emergency Relief in time for the holiday.
“Harris Teeter is committed to fighting hunger in its communities” said Danna Jones, communication specialist serving Harris Teeter. “During the month of November, the company provided over 40,000 people with a holiday dinner through a program called Harvest Feast.”
“We recently opened in Baltimore and wanted to extend our tradition of providing holiday dinners to families-in-need in this city as well,” added Jones. “We are pleased to work with Fort McHenry Business Association to accomplish that goal.”
Each holiday dinner bag will feed a family of four and will contain turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, rolls and a fruit pie.
