Harris Teeter Deploys Tractor Trailers with Water, Ice to Markets Affected by Hurricane Irene
Company Will Distribute Free Water, Ice in Local Communities to Help Those Affected by Hurricane
Charlotte, N.C. Aug. 27, 2011 - Harris Teeter’s Special Situations team has been closely monitoring Hurricane Irene’s path along the eastern shoes and began preparing in advance of the hurricane by pre-positioning tractor trailers with water and ice at key distribution points as well as stocking stores in advance with disaster supplies including water and ice.
In order to assist the residents in the communities we serve, we will be distributing free ice and water at the locations listed below. Understanding there are many communities and community members in need of these essentials, we ask that all recipients remain patient as we work to help each and every resident. The safety of our customers is our priority as we work diligently to come to the aid of the communities we are committed to serving.
We have dispatched a tractor trailer containing gallon containers of water and a tractor trailer containing bags of ice to each of the locations listed below. The tractor trailers will arrive on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011. Distribution points and times are listed below:
Store #287, 2120 E Firetower Rd in Greenville, N.C. – 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Store #96, 5920 Carolina Beach Rd in Wilmington, N.C. – 10 a.m.
Store #158, 820 S College Rd in Wilmington, N.C. – 10 a.m.
Store #135, 203 Alston Blvd in Hampstead, N.C.. – 10 a.m.
Store #225, 2012 Regent Way in Leland, N.C. – 10 a.m.
