The company would like to thanks its associates and generous customers for participating in the campaign
Charlotte, NC - Harris Teeter shoppers raised $79,347 during the Disaster Relief Fund donation card campaign launched on April 18, 2011. Harris Teeter stores in the Triangle area began selling $1 and $5 Disaster Relief Fund donation cards on April 18th to support the American Red Cross and the Harris Teeter associates and community members affected by the recent tornadoes.
All money raised by donation card sales will go directly to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund to help the victims of the recent tornadoes in North Carolina. The dollars donated will enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance.
“When disaster strikes our customers and associates want to lend their support and make a difference,” said Fred Morganthall, President of Harris Teeter. “The Relief Fund will be an easy way for customers to make a donation the next time they are in our stores,” added Morganthall.
Harris Teeter is committed to the communities where its customers and associates live and work. On Sunday, April 17, 2011 the company also sent 4,800 bags of FREE ice to the Southpark Village Harris Teeter store located at 324 Village Walk Drive in Holly Springs, and, on April 29, Harris Teeter donated over $45,000 in product to the Salvation Army of Wake County during its Rebuild Raleigh event hosted by The Green Chair Project.
