Charlotte, NC - Harris Teeter has accounted for the last Flood Relief donation card sold in its Tennessee stores and raised $7,728 through donation card sales in support of the American Red Cross’ flood relief efforts in the Nashville area.

All five Harris Teeter stores in Tennessee sold $1 and $5 donation cards to benefit the Middle Tennessee American Red Cross Chapters located in the company’s marketing areas.  The campaign officially ended on the 31st of May; including the $10,000 donation the company made to the American Red Cross at the beginning of the campaign, the total donation will be $17,728.

The dollars are earmarked to support the affected areas by providing relief supplies, shelter, meals, and support for long-term reconstruction.

In early May, Harris Teeter also took action to help community members whose homes and businesses were damaged or completely destroyed by flood waters.  The company distributed over 31,000 gallons of water and 4,400 bags of ice FREE of charge to area residents immediately following the flooding.

Harris Teeter would also like to thank its media partners including Mix 92.9, 96.3 Jack FM and Comcast for helping raise awareness for the Flood Relief Donation Card campaign.
