Harris Teeter Together in Education Announces Results of “We Think Green” Contest

Company gave schools additional opportunity to earn money through Together in Education by collecting plastic bags for recycling

Charlotte, NC – Harris Teeter recently announced the results of its fourth “We Think Green” contest. The contest, which ran March 10, 2010 – April 13, 2010, was designed to teach students and parents the benefits of recycling while giving schools an additional chance to earn money.

Eighty-eight schools participated in the contest and collected plastic bags which were turned into their local store to be counted and recycled.  Winning schools were those that collected the most plastic bags.  Harris Teeter awarded 15 schools – a first, second, third, fourth and fifth place winner from each region – with a check for collecting plastic bags.
