Harris Teeter Presents its 7th Annual Harvest Feast Dinner
Harris Teeter to Feed Thousands of Local Residents in Need

Charlotte, NC -  On Sunday, December 6th at 12pm, over 400 Harris Teeter employees and volunteers from the community will join together at the Raleigh Convention Center to serve free holiday meals to residents in need. This is the seventh year Harris Teeter has hosted this event in Raleigh.

The event is not open to the general publicTriangle-area residents-in-need have been identified and invited by organizations throughout Raleigh including Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, United Way of the Greater Triangle, and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern Carolina.

Harris Teeter will serve each person in attendance a free holiday meal; in total over 4,500 pounds of turkey, 1,560 pounds of ham, and over 900 pounds each of corn, green beans and mashed potatoes, to name a few.  Any remaining perishable food items will be donated to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and distributed to Greater Triangle emergency soup kitchens, shelters, and pantries.  Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day for our guests to enjoy.

Harris Teeter is not able to hold dinners in all the communities it serves, however the company has initiated a food drive and card sales in all of its stores to ensure that food bank shelves are stocked this holiday season.  Collection barrels were placed at each of our stores and $5 and $20 donation cards were sold from Wednesday, October 28 through Tuesday, December 1.  Thanks to the support of our loyal customers and associates, we raised over $205,000 and are still tallying the numbers.

Media is encouraged to attend the event on Sunday, December 6.  Please use the Raleigh Convention Center entrance on the corner of Cabarrus and McDowell.

Harris Teeter would also like to thank the Raleigh Convention Center, Capital Area Transit, Durham Area Transit Authority, Chapel Hill Transit and our generous vendors for helping make the Harvest Feast Dinner possible.
