Time: 11am – 3pm
Where: Raleigh Convention Center, 500 South Salisbury Street
Harris Teeter, United Way of the Greater Triangle and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle would like to invite reporters to the Raleigh Convention Center on Wednesday, December 2 or Thursday, December 3 for a behind-the-scenes look at the Harvest Feast Dinner. What does it take to make a holiday-style meal for over 7,000 people? Centerplate’s Executive Chef Anthony Wilkins will walk you through the process of preparing food - 4,500 pounds of turkey, 1,560 pounds of ham, and over 900 pounds each of corn, green beans and mashed potatoes - for our guests to enjoy.
Harris Teeter would also like to invite reporters to cover the Harvest Feast Dinner at the Raleigh Convention Center on Sunday, December 6, 2009. The Harvest Feast Dinner takes place from 12pm- 4pm and during the event Harris Teeter provides guests with a free holiday-style meal and entertainment.
Harris Teeter would like to thank the United Way of the Greater Triangle, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, City of Raleigh, Raleigh Convention Center, Capital Area Transit, Durham Area Transit Authority, Chapel Hill Transit, WRAL-TV and many others who have been helping us with this event.
The Harvest Feast Dinner is by invitation only, and Harris Teeter is not able to hold dinners in all of the communities it serves. The company hosted a food drive and donation card campaign in all of its stores October 28 – December 1. All items collected will remain in the community and benefit the local food bank. Last year we collected over $202,000; thanks to our generous customers we have already raised over $200,000 and we look forward to tallying final results after tomorrow.
