What: 8th Annual Harris Teeter Harvest Feast Dinner - Preview
Date: Tuesday, November 24 or Wednesday, November 25, 2009
Time: 11am – 3pm
Where: Charlotte Convention Center, 501 South College Street
Harris Teeter invites reporters to the Charlotte Convention Center on Tuesday, November 24 or Wednesday, November 25 for a behind-the-scenes look at the Harvest Feast Dinner. What does it take to make a holiday-style meal for 10,000 people? The Charlotte Convention Center's Executive Chef Bill Cahill will walk you through the process of preparing food - 4,500 pounds of turkey, 1,560 pounds of ham, and over 900 pounds each of corn, green beans and mashed potatoes - for our guests to enjoy.
Harris Teeter would also like to invite reporters to cover the Harvest Feast Dinner at the Charlotte Convention Center on Friday, November 27, 2009. The Harvest Feast Dinner takes place from 12pm- 4pm and during the event Harris Teeter provides guests with a free holiday-style meal and entertainment.
Harris Teeter would like to thank the Department of Social Services, Loaves & Fishes, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, Charlotte Housing Authority, Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Charlotte Convention Center, WBTV, Charlotte Area Transit System, LYNX and many others who have been helping us with this event.
The Harvest Feast Dinner is by invitation only, and Harris Teeter is not able to hold dinners in all of the communities it serves. The company is hosting a food drive and donation card campaign in all of its stores October 28 – December 1. All items collected will remain in the community and benefit local food banks. Last year we collected over $202,000 and hope to surpass that number this year.
