Harris Teeter Presents its 6th Annual Harvest Feast Banquet
Harris Teeter, Triangle United Way and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to Feed Thousands of Local Residents in Need
On Saturday, November 1 at 12pm, Harris Teeter employees and over 300 volunteers from the community will join together at the Raleigh Convention Center to serve free holiday meals to residents in need. This is the sixth year Harris Teeter has hosted this event in Raleigh.

The event is not open to the general public. Triangle-area residents-in-need have been identified and invited by the Triangle United Way, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, and other groups to attend the event. Media is encouraged to attend as well.

Harris Teeter will serve each person in attendance a free holiday meal; in total over 4,500 pounds of turkey, 1,500 pounds of ham, and over 900 pounds each of corn, green beans and mashed potatoes, to name a few, will be provided. In addition, there will be entertainment throughout the day and each child in attendance will receive a special Harry the Dragon gift bag including activity books and toys donated by our generous vendors.

Any remaining perishable food items will be given to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to help stock their pantry this holiday season.

Harris Teeter is not able to hold dinners in all the communities it serves, however the company has initiated a food drive and card sales in all of its stores to ensure that food bank shelves are stocked this holiday season. Collection barrels will be placed at the entrances and $5 and $20 donation cards will be sold at the registers of all Harris Teeter stores October 29 through December 2.

Media is encouraged to attend the event on Saturday, November 1. Please use the Raleigh Convention Center Entrance on the corner of McDowell Street and Cabarrus Streets. For more information, contact Catherine Reuhl at
