Charlotte, NC – Harris Teeter’s first two truckloads containing 9,000 galloons of FREE water arrived at its Greenville stores last night at approximately 8:00 p.m. Within two hours all of the water had been distributed to residents affected by the water contamination situation.
Today, two additional tractor-trailers left the Harris Teeter Distribution Center in Greensboro, NC heading to Greenville, NC. The first Harris Teeter truck left at around 10am and the second truck is expected to leave at 12:30pm. The trucks contain a total of 9,000 additional gallons of FREE water and will arrive at Harris Teeter stores located at 2120 E. Firetower Road and 1400 Charles Boulevard today June 26, 2008 at approximately 1:30pm and 3:30pm.
“We want to make sure our customers have clean water for their families,” said Harris Teeter President, Fred Morganthall. “When situations like these arise we feel it is important to lend a hand to our shoppers, and to just be a good neighbor,” Morganthall adds.
