On October 30, 2007, Harris Teeter announced Rodney “Rod” C. Antolock, as the new executive vice president of operations and merchandising and Jerry L. Clontz’s promotion to senior vice president of operations.
Antolock has served as senior vice president of operations/merchandising at Harris Teeter since March, 2000. His current responsibilities include managing the operation of 166 stores and overseeing the expense management, marketing/manufacturing and industrial engineering of the corporation. Antolock will now also be responsible for Harris Teeter’s two distribution centers.
Antolock came to Harris Teeter with over 22 years of retailing experience with Albertson’s Food & Drug Stores. During his tenure at Albertson’s, Rod supervised over 300 different stores and held positions of vice president, director of retail operations, district manager, grocery sales manager and store manager.
"From ensuring exceptional shopping experiences for our customers to implementing key strategic initiatives in our stores, Rod and Jerry have made remarkable contributions to our success," says Fred Morganthall, Harris Teeter president.
Clontz joined the Harris Teeter team as a bagger on October 21, 1971 and quickly rose to a variety of supervisory and management roles including store manager, field specialist, district manager, regional trainer, regional director and northern region vice president.
With the announcement of his promotion to senior vice president of operations, Clontz will relocate from Raleigh, NC to Charlotte, NC, to be based out of the Harris Teeter corporate headquarters. Clontz will report directly to Antolock and will oversee the operations team including Harris Teeter’s southern region vice president and northern and central regional directors.
