Harris Teeter Shopper Wins New Saturn just for Linking VIC Card
TIE Program Gives back to someone who gives so much to the community

Charlotte, NC - To give shoppers an incentive to re-link their VIC card this year, Harris Teeter threw in a little something extra – a car! Candace Burke took home her new Saturn Ion 2, last week in Cary, NC.

The Harris Teeter team joined up with winner Candace Burke at Saturn of Cary on Monday morning to pick up her new car. Once Mrs. Burke decided on the color, the group headed to the Cresent Commons Harris Teeter store where Store Manager, Jill Frieary presented the keys to our lucky winner and loyal VIC customer.

In 2004, Harris Teeter gave over $1,185,000 back to schools throughout our markets. That means money for band uniforms, musical instruments, books, teacher workshops, scholarships, and much more. It also means that Harris Teeter’s Together In Education (TIE) program has now over $5.5 million back to schools for needs that fall outside their ever shrinking budgets.

Through her work, Mrs. Burke is familiar with the needs of children in the community. Employed as a Public Health Nurse for high- risk children in Wake County she observes children in need on a daily basis and is all too familiar with the limited budgets of the school district. By linking her VIC card to Frankie Lemmon School and Development Center she knows she can make a difference in the community through the Harris Teeter, TIE program.

Harris Teeter is excited about helping support schools in the markets we serve and we look forward to the program’s continued growth and success.
