Harris Teeter's New Fishermans Market is No Tall Tale
It's true – Harris Teeter is now offering even more customer service, recipes, and helpful hints on how to get your family eatin
Harris Teeter is proud to announce the rollout of a new seafood program in all of our stores. Our new Fishermans Market will have certified Seafood Captains, much like our Green Thumb Experts with our Farmers Market program in our produce department.

What is the difference between fresh never frozen and previously frozen at sea? Ever wonder just how many shrimp to prepare for each person or exactly how long to cook a certain type of fish, or what's the best way to store mussels and clams to make sure they are safe for guests?

At Harris Teeter, our new certified Seafood Captains will be providing a heightened level of customer service by helping our shoppers select top-quality seafood for their dinner table. They will also have on hand nutritional and country of origin information, and even Fresh Catch weekly recipes with suggestions on how to prepare their catch-of-the-day when they get home.

Customers can rely on Harris Teeter's Fishermans Market as a resource for seafood preparation techniques, safety precautions, as well as great tasting recipes for any type of seafood on the menu. There will be a display featuring 24 different seafood recipes that will change every three months. Harris Teeter's Executive Chef, Phil Anderson, will create a unique recipe each month for customers, and the Fishermans Market will have a weekly fresh catch recipe using a seafood item on special.

Harris Teeter will offer weekly Fresh Catch specials flown in from all around the world. Whether it's Brazilian Redfish, Albacore Tuna from New Zealand, Arctic Char from Iceland or Mahi-Mahi from Costa Rica, we guarantee it's quality verified, fresh and ready for your favorite recipe.

If a customer's taste is a little closer to home, we've got that covered too. Harris Teeter partners with companies up and down the East Coast to provide the freshest seafood to all of our stores. We get local catfish from Carolina Classics Catfish in Ayden, NC. Sunburst Trout Farms in Canton, NC provides us with farm-raised trout. Cherrystone Clams brings us the best tasting clams from Norfolk, VA and the Great Eastern Mussel Farm prides itself on having the most tender, flavorful mussels from Tenants Harbor, ME.
