This golf tournament is just another way Harris Teeter's Together in Education (TIE) program goes to work for area students. This is our third year raising money to help local schools bridge the gaps in their ever-shrinking budgets.
Harris Teeter's "Together in Education program" has provided thousands of dollars to individual schools to help provide support beyond the basics. Without a doubt, Harris Teeter recognizes that our nation's future will depend on the quality of education we provide out children today," says Dr. Donald L. Martin, Jr., Superintendent, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.
Last year schools earned over $1.2 million for their students. Since 1998, schools have earned over $4 million dollars from TIE. It might just surprise you what the money goes towards. Many schools use TIE money to accomplish some very basic needs like air conditioning, equipping bathrooms for handicap use, buying books, and even a school bus!
Interviews with Harris Teeter President, Fred Morganthall
as well as Dr. Martin and Dr. Fogg available between 6pm – 7pm.
