Harris Teeter Donates 500 Hams to Samaritan Ministries
Feeding the hungry in Winston Salem during the holidays

Charlotte, NC - Harris Teeter is donating 125 cases of Hormel Hams to the Samaritan Ministries to help feed seniors and families in need this holiday season. 500 hams will be delivered between 7:30am and 8:30am tomorrow morning – Wednesday, December 18th.

The Samaritan Ministries' meal program is geared toward ensuring the nutritional well being of seniors and families in need. And that need goes up during the holiday season. The Harris Teeter family is proud to donate the hams to help this organization fight hunger in their community.

Hunger is more than just a growling sensation in the stomach; it's an emotional and physical stress that, if left unchecked, can cause serious health problems and a substantial loss in the quality of life. "Combating hunger has been a top priority for Harris Teeter since we opened our doors," said President, Fred Morganthall. "And Samaritan Ministries provides much more than just a nutritious meal, they provide an opportunity for neighbors to reach out and help each other," he added.

Many recipients live alone and the nutrition programs offered provide nourishment of body and heart. Harris Teeter is proud to support the Samaritan Ministries and all their efforts.
