Harris Teeter Introduces Harris Teeter Naturals
CHARLOTTE, NC – April 19, 2002 --- In celebration of Earth Day, Harris Teeter is introducing Harris Teeter Naturals, a new brand in the Harris Teeter line of private label products. With consumer health and wellbeing, as well as concern for the environment, in mind, Harris Teeter Naturals consists of the finest natural and organic foods available.

"Earth Day commemorates peace and care for the Earth. We couldn't think of a better time to launch Harris Teeter Naturals," says Category Manager Karin Humanik. "Our customers are increasingly looking for organic options. As the premier supermarket, we saw this as a logical step in the Harris Teeter private label line; to offer our customers natural and organic products at reasonable prices."

The Harris Teeter Naturals line consists of approximately 30 items, all of which will be in stores by the end of April. Current offerings include peanut butter, juices, cereals, canned vegetables and more. All Naturals items labeled as organic will meet the U.S. government's organic standards. The line will grow throughout the year to include about 25 more items.
