Harris Teeter Pharmacy Promotes Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness
CHARLOTTE, NC, July 24, 2001 --- Harris Teeter's Jetton Village Pharmacy announced today that it will serve as a Platinum Sponsor of The Sanger Clinic PA Transplant Trotters 5K run and one-mile fun walk at Jetton Park next month. The event, which will benefit Lifeshare of the Carolinas and the Lungs for Life Support Group, is designed to promote organ and tissue donor awareness. Harris Teeter will host a check presentation to Transplant Trotters at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31 at the Jetton Village store (19815 North Cove Road, Davidson).

"Harris Teeter is proud to be sponsoring this event," says Harris Teeter Pharmacist David Sander. "Organ and tissue donation is an important health issue, and we are pleased to assist in increasing awareness and understanding."

The Transplant Trotters event will be held on August 25, 2001. Registration begins at 7 a.m.; the race starts at 9 a.m., and the walk starts at 9:15 a.m. Participants may pre-register online at www.rmssports.com.
