Harris Teeter Contributes $100,000+ to the Guilford County Schools
GREENSBORO, NC, Oct. 8, 2001 --- Harris Teeter announced today a $100,000+ gift to the Guilford County Schools. The grocery store chain will contribute $50,000 for two years to district-wide and school-level programs, including Teacher of the Year and All-Star Academic Camps. In addition to the $100,000, Harris Teeter will contribute a match of the funds raised through its Together in Education program in the Guilford County area.

The first $50,000 will be presented to the Schools at the School Board meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at approximately 6:45 p.m. at 712 North Eugene Street in Greensboro.

"We're thrilled to be able to so strongly support the Guilford County Schools. Harris Teeter believes in giving back to the communities that we serve, and educating our children is our top priority," says Harris Teeter President Fred Morganthall. "We're also pleased that by participating in our Together in Education program, our customers can benefit two programs at once - their school of choice and District-wide programming."
