Harris Teeter to Offer Flu Shots October through December
CHARLOTTE, NC, October 15, 2001 --- Each fall and winter, the flu epidemic strikes, and many are at the greatest risk for getting the virus and experiencing complications. Protect yourself by making time to get immunized against the flu. This year, you won't have to go far.

Harris Teeter in cooperation with Maxim Healthcare Services will be offering flu shots in all its stores October 20 through December 8.

Each store will offer shots for at least one four-hour period during the month. Flu shots will be available to all Harris Teeter customers for just $15 each, $14 with a VIC card, or at no charge if you are a Medicare Part B, non-HMO recipient (just present your card before receiving your shot). Licensed nurses with Maxim Healthcare Services will administer the shots in a temporary clinic set up within the Harris Teeter stores. Customers interested in receiving the shots should check in with their local store for the schedule.

Customers will also be able to get Pneumonia vaccine shots for $25 each.

At Harris Teeter, we want to make it easy for you to stay healthy and well this flu season. And unlike flu shots given several years ago, the flu immunization of today is made with an inactive virus, and the shot will not cause the flu when given.
