Harris Teeter and Milk-Bone to donate Police Dog to Winston-Salem Canine Unit
Donation to be made on May 30 at Whitaker Square Shopping Center Harris Teeter

The Winston-Salem Canine Unit of the Winston-Salem Police Department is excited to announce the donation of a new police dog to our K-9 Unit. As part of an ongoing effort to support local law enforcement, Milk-Bone has teamed up with Harris Teeter to co-sponsor the donation. A ceremony marking the donation of the new canine officer is planned for May 30 at 10a.m. at the Harris Teeter store at 1955 N. Peacehaven Road in the Whitaker Square Shopping Center. The Winston-Salem Mayor, representatives from Harris Teeter, Milk-Bone and the Winston-Salem Police Department will be present. Local elementary schools participated in a K-9 coloring contest, and the winning class will also be attending to find out who is the lucky winner. As part of the ceremony, the Winston-Salem K-9 Unit will be conducting a demonstration and will provide an opportunity for the attendees to interact with our canine unit.

Members of the media are encouraged to contact Lou Taylor from the Winston-Salem Police Department Crime Prevention and/or Demra Robbins from The Wilson Group for additional information.
