Harris Teeter Store Opening Rescheduled
CHARLESTON, NC, April 30, 2001 --- Harris Teeter will open its second Mt. Pleasant store at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16. The new location will be the fifth Harris Teeter store in the Charleston market. The opening, postponed due to construction delays, was originally scheduled for May 9.

Located at 620 Long Point Road, the 36,000 square-foot store will be open 24 hours a day.

The store will feature a wide variety of grocery and dairy products, along with full-service meat, seafood, fresh foods and floral departments. The store will also offer a U-Scan unit, which will allow self-checkout for customers with 15 items or less. This new store is the first in Mt. Pleasant to have the U-Scan. In addition, the store will offer a sit-down eating area with 12 seats, a natural foods section, a sushi bar, Coinstar and many other amenities for which Harris Teeter stores are noted.

Randy Rasmussen, who has been with Harris Teeter since 1980, will manage the store. Co-Managers at the new Mt. Pleasant store will be Steve Fidler and Diviann Gilliard.
