Harris Teeter Names Manager for New Charlotte Store
CHARLOTTE, NC, April 11, 2001 --- Industry veteran Chuong Hong has been named Store Manager of the new Sardis Road Harris Teeter store scheduled to open Wednesday, April 25. The store will be the 29th in the Charlotte market.

Hong started with Harris Teeter in 1998, and became a co-manager after graduating from Harris Teeter's Management Development Program. He started his career in the food service industry at age 14. Over the years, he worked his way up the ladder, eventually making it into management.

Hong's management team includes co-manager Jim Underwood, who has been with Harris Teeter since 1968.

Harris Teeter will open its newest Charlotte store in the Sardis Crossing Shopping Center, 1621 North Sardis Road, on Wednesday, April 25 at 8 a.m.

Harris Teeter is ranked as one of the top 50 largest supermarkets in the United States with 2000 sales of $2.3 billion.
