Harris Teeter Names Manager for New Raleigh Store
RALEIGH, NC, March 7, 2001 --- Harris Teeter veteran James Johnson has been named Store Manager of the new Leesville Road Harris Teeter store scheduled to open Wednesday, March 21. The store will be the 10th in the Raleigh market.

Johnson started with Harris Teeter in 1993, and became a co-manager after graduating from Harris Teeter’s Management Development Program. He started his career in the food service industry at age 16, working as a bagger at a local supermarket. Over the years, he worked his way up the ladder, eventually making it into management.

As manager of the new Raleigh store, Johnson is looking forward to promoting the company’s amenities. “Harris Teeter prides itself on excellent customer service and in offering a unique grocery shopping environment,” said Johnson. “I look forward to helping our customers achieve the best possible shopping experience.”

Johnson’s management team includes co-managers Doug Benton and Stephen Williams. They have combined experience of almost 50 years in the retail grocery business; Benton has worked in grocery for 28 years, and Williams for 20 years.

Harris Teeter will open its newest Raleigh store at 9810 Leesville Road on Wednesday, March 21 at 8 a.m.
