Harris Teeter to Open New Raleigh Store
RALEIGH, NC, Feb. 28, 2001 --- Harris Teeter will open its 10th Raleigh area store at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21.

Located at 9810 Leesville Road, the 36,000 square-foot store will be open 24 hours a day, and will employ about 119 associates.
The store will feature a wide variety of grocery and dairy products, along with full-service meat, seafood, fresh foods and floral departments. The store will also offer a carousel U-Scan, which will allow self-checkout for customers with all order sizes. This Leesville Road store is the first in the Raleigh area to have the new U-Scan layout with a six-bag carousel, two express carousels and a cashier. In addition, the store will offer natural foods and organic sections, a sushi bar, Coinstar and many other amenities for which Harris Teeter stores are noted.

James Johnson, who has been with Harris Teeter since 1993, will manage the store. Co-Managers at the new Raleigh store will be Stephen Williams and Doug Benton.
