Harris Teeter to Donate $3000 Worth of Books to New Hanover County Schools
WILMINGTON, NC, April 4, 2001 --- Harris Teeter will donate $3,000 worth of books to New Hanover County Schools on Thursday, April 5 at 8:30 a.m. Sixty copies of Wilmington Then and Now will be given to Superintendent Dr. John Morris for New Hanover County school libraries at the Harris Teeter at 820 South College Street.

“We are proud to be able to make this contribution to the New Hanover County Schools,” says District Manager Dan Marett. “Educating our children is an important component of Harris Teeter’s community giving program.”

The books were given to Harris Teeter by Andrew Koeppel, author of Wilmington Then and Now, who held book sales and signings at Wilmington Harris Teeter stores earlier this year. The number of books donated was based on sales at the store events.
