Will Harris Teeter customers notice any changes as a result of the merger?
Shoppers should expect no changes to their Harris Teeter stores. Harris Teeter customers love their stores, and we don’t want to change that. This means we will continue to focus on delivering the best possible shopping experience we can for our customers. Our customers will continue to be served by our friendly and knowledgeable associates, and we will focus on maintaining short wait times in the check-out lane as well as the various service areas in our stores. Harris Teeter will also continue to strive to provide an excellent selection of high-quality products to its customers at competitive prices while implementing pricing and promotional strategies that drive additional value to our customers.
Are stores remaining under the Harris Teeter banner?
Harris Teeter will retain its banner name.
Will some stores close as the result of the merger?
We have no plans to close stores.
Will Harris Teeter stores start carrying Kroger-brand products?
Harris Teeter will continue to carry Harris Teeter Brands and will continue to offer the same high-quality produce, meat and Fresh Foods quality our shoppers have come to expect.
Can Harris Teeter customers still use their VIC cards?
Harris Teeter customers will still be able to use their VIC cards.
Will Harris Teeter still offer double coupons?
We do not currently have any plans to change our coupon policy.
Will the Club 60 Senior Discount remain intact?
Harris Teeter will continue offering customers over 60 years of age a five percent discount on Thursday.
Will the Sub Club remain intact?
We do not have any plans to change our Sub Club program.
Will Harris Teeter continue to offer Express Lane?
Yes. In fact, we have over 140 Express Lane Online Shopping locations, and we continue to grow this program companywide.
Will Kroger and Harris Teeter gift cards be honored at both stores?
You will be able to use your Harris Teeter gift cards at Harris Teeter stores and your Kroger gift cards at Kroger locations.
If I owned stock in Harris Teeter Supermarkets, Inc., what is the process for receiving payment?
After the closing of the merger, shareholders will receive $49.38 in cash proceeds for each share of Harris Teeter common stock they own. If you have a stock certificate or a dividend reinvestment account at American Stock Transfer & Trust Company (AST), you will receive a “letter of transmittal” from AST that must be properly completed and returned to AST in order to receive the cash proceeds. AST will mail you a check within 3 business days of receipt of the completed letter of transmittal. If your Harris Teeter stock is held in a brokerage account, you can expect to receive the cash proceeds within a few days of closing.
Will your headquarters move to Cincinnati, OH?
Harris Teeter headquarters will remain in Matthews, N.C.
Will your Giving Programs change?
Harris Teeter will continue supporting youth sports organizations, local schools grades k-12, hunger-relief organizations and United Way. To request a contribution, click here.
